Mindfulness and meditation has fostered an increase in my psychological wellness because I am more peaceful. I can relax and focus on the positive outlook of life. I continue to apply these practices in my life to foster greater health and wellness by exercising, meditating, pampering my body and eating healthy.
"One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself" is simply saying that you cannot help others if you have not experience the same issue. This applies to health and wellness professionals because they have to help people deal with health issues whether it is physical or psychological. Yes, I do have an obligation to my clients to be developing my health psychologically, physically, and spiritually because I have to help them develop their health psychologically and spiritually. I have to practice what I preach. I can implement psychological and spiritual growth in my life by treating people right, focus on positive things in my life, and getting deeper in my faith.
Hi Queen T,
ReplyDeleteI truly agree with you, we do have to practice what we preach. People are watching us at all times and its best to be real and not fake. The more we practice and experience things in our life, the more we are apt to help someone else who needs it. Sometimes the grass looks greener on the other side, but when we actually step on it there is something we didn't expect because we looked from afar. In other words I can't tell someone to go and experience something if I haven't experienced for myself. Great post, stay positive and keep the faith.

I have noticed that since I have been doing the weekly exercises I am a bit calmer. I find myself getting angry I tell myself to think happy thoughts and I am able to calm down and see the situation in a different light. I too am a firm believer in lead by example. So I agree with you, I have an obligation to provide my clients with whatever is necessary to show them I have a firm understanding of what they are experiencing. No matter if it's psychological or spiritual when it comes to their health and well being.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! I have also noticed benefits from doing these practices. One learns to focus on what is most importantlife and this gives us more time when we weed out the distractions.
